As previously announced ODI-MC Pty Ltd entered into a collaborative agreement with LX Innovations Pty Ltd earlier this year resulting in a services contract; LX Innovations was to build the physical electronics for the ODI-MC Modular Computer.
Approximately half way through the project timeline, ODI-MC was informed by LX Innovations that the contracted labour figures had been revised resulting in a price increase of approximately 1000%. Such a revision was not contemplated in the contract and ODI-MC could not meet increased expectations of such magnitude. As a result, LX Innovations prematurely terminated the contract.
Due to the contract termination and the resulting unrecoverable delay to the project timeline, the production of the Modular Computer Alpha prototype is no longer tenable and ODI-MC will be unable to debut the technology at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2011.
ODI-MC has suffered considerable financial loss due to the contract termination resulting in the production of its line of modular computers being no longer tenable. ODI-MC Pty Ltd intends to take legal action against LX Innovations Pty Ltd in order to recoup its losses as soon as it can reasonably do so.
